Cops appeal for publics help in recapturing prison escapees

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) earlier today (Tuesday) made another appeal for the assistance of members of the public in recapturing two escapees from the Camp Street and Lusignan prisons in July of 2017.In a statement to the media, the Force said that Cobena Stephens a.k.a. OJ and Paul Goriah are wanted by the police for Escaping from Lawful Custody (Georgetown and Lusignan Prisons) on July 09 and 24, 2017 respectively.It called on members of the public, relatives and friends to give any relevant information as to the whereabouts of these escapees so that they can be captured and returned to the prison.Also an appeal is being made to the escapees to surrender to the police or relevant authority, to avoid any serious confrontation that is likely to result in the use of force.Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the men are asked to call telephone numbers 225-8196 or 225-2227, 911 or the nearest police station.All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.
