Now in its seventh year, it is the UK’s only national day of volunteering and will see thousands of people from hundreds of companies volunteering on the day itself as well as during the week running up to the 20th.Last year saw 220,654 hours volunteered globally from 31,522 volunteers, 18,930 of which were in the UK. More information on how to take part can be found on the BITC site.Lloyds Banking Group has also committed to providing 240,000 volunteering hours to support community projects in 2016, cumulating in 2.3 million hours by 2020, with a new focus on the provision of skills-based volunteering, which will see one-third of the Group’s volunteers using their own experience and expertise during Give & Gain Week and further developing their skills.Kamel Hothi, head of colleague volunteering and fundraising, Lloyds Banking Group, said:“We are proud to participate in Give & Gain Week again this year.
