Official Statement: Cisse apologises to Man Utd’s Jonny Evans

first_imgNewcastle United striker Papiss Cissue has issued a statement via the club’s website apologising for the spitting incident that took place with Manchester United’s Jonny Evans on Wednesday night. It came about during the first half of the game between the two sides at St James’ Park on Wednesday evening when Evans came in late on Cisse. As the pair got up TV replays suggested that both Evans and Cisse appeared to spit on each other as the were getting up.Earlier today Evans came out and denied all accusations of spitting but Cisse has taken a different route, by admitting it happened and then apologising.Cisse said that he apologises to the club, the club’s fans, to Evans himself and to every football fan saying that what he did wasn’t right and that he was reacting to something unpleasant. He went on to say that he hoped the fans watching him did not think he was encouraging this behaviour, he just found it difficult not react in the heat of the moment. “I have apologies to make to a lot of people today. Firstly to my teammates and to our supporters, secondly to Jonny Evans, and thirdly to every football fan who saw the incident between myself and Jonny.“I reacted to something I found very unpleasant. Sometimes it is hard not to react, particularly in the heat of the moment. I have always tried hard to be positive a role model, especially for our young fans, and yesterday I let you down.“I hope children out there playing football for their clubs and schools this weekend will know better than to retaliate when they are angry. Perhaps when they see the problem it now causes me and my team they will be able to learn from my mistake, not copy it.”If the FA decide to charge the two players, and finds them guilty, they will both be looking at a minimum of a six game ban according to FIFA’s official rules.last_img read more

Amit believes, the boxers have worked hard on their strength and technique and will give tough competition to other boxers in the game.“Our performance in boxing in the recent times has improved by leaps and bounds. We have won many gold medals, whether it be at the Commonwealth Games or Asian Championships, or World Championships. ”Advertisement Indian boxers have not yet brought home a gold medal. By next year, India may already have a gold medalist in boxing.Amit also shared his opinion on the clash between Mary Kom and Nikhat Zareen.“Mary Kom is a star in India boxing. According to me, it doesn’t matter for Mary Kom if there are trials or not because she doesn’t need to prove she is the best as she has already proved that. But, even if the trials do take place, I don’t think so that Mary Kom should be worried about anything as she can handle these things quite easily.”The boxing champ is currently a part of the Gujarat Giants and will be taking part in the Big Bout Indian Boxing League apart from the Olympics.Mary Kom will not compete against Nikhat Zareen in boxing league but Olympics trial bout still on for December 27 Predictions On How The Manchester United Will Finish The Season   Advertisementlast_img read more
