The walls of the church will come down and everybody will be blessed, said Rev. Willie Moultry, an event organizer.“The main purpose of the Walk for Jesus is to take Jesus out of the four walls of the church and out to where everybody can experience Him,” Moultry said. “Not everybody goes to church. Not everybody has the strength to go to church. So we want to take Jesus to them. The Walk for Jesus is a way to reach those who don’t go to church.”The Walk for Jesus will get underway at 10 a.m. at New Jerusalem Church on Galloway Road and follow a Main Street route to Pike County High School. Walkers may join in at Galloway Park, the Piggly Wiggly or in the downtown area. Those who cannot walk may have a car in the walk.
